Use ICT from Now !

ICT is to the technology that accesses to information. It includes any product that will store, restore, operate, or receive information in a digital form. ICT focus more on communication. Modern ICT make a way for people to communicate with others across the world. For this reason, ICT often affects the education today. Some people or educators think that ICT has a negative impact and can not be the best tool to help teaching and learning, however, I believe that ICT has the great positive impact on education and can help teaching and learning.

Most people think that ICT has bad impact on education field. Teacher always use and depend on this tools to help their teaching and learning. Actually this case causes many problems and one of the problems is usually there is an irresponsible information because web information mostly came or written by only personal’s opinion (UK Essay, 2013). In the other hand, students can not focuss  on lecturer because they always look at their handphone and use social media (facebook, twitter, etc) as their habit while teacher or lecturer teachs them in front of the class. This type influence students behavior  worse than before (UK Essay, 2013).

Additionally, most of teachers cannot manage class and time well when they using ICT in class. Based on (J. Blackmore, L. Hardcastle, et. Al) discussses that teacher felt difficulty to implementate computers or other ICT tools. This case is not effective to apply in class because can consume much time. Furthermore, Lack of technical support to be one of the reason for teachers lost confidence in the implementation ICT tools and software due to frequent failures and failure to complete lessons in the allocated time ( J. Blackmore, L. Hardcastle, et. Al. 2003: 203). ICT is not the best tool to help students assignment and learning on individual projects. (J. Blackmore, L. Hardcastle, et. Al. 2003 page 06).  Moreover, there are several challenges on education field to apllicate this tools. The challenges are especially in Iran such as lack of national Policy for using ICT in Higher Education, lack of adequate investments, cultural obstacles, financial challenges, lack of continuity in ICT use, and lack of systematic training and development programs.

In fact, actually, the role of  ICT is to help teaching and learning to be easy. However there are any person’s opinions in the web which causes an irresponsible information,  but  ICT shows us a responsible web which can be the best references in education, such as ERIC, Google scholar, TEFLIN etc.

Actually many media social as facebook, twittwer, and etc can help students or teachers in teaching-learning proces and give an interest way in their personal education. By integrating ICT through media social into the classroom, students have the ability to learn more effectively, exploring and sharing good information with their friends. It unknowingly makes them more collaborate with each other. In addition, through the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) such as interactive boards, tablet PCs, smartphones, the Internet, and computers in education, it is possible that class engagement increases, the lessons become more productive and fun, learning becomes more effective and students become more motivated (Gunuc 2016).

Furthermore, there are some benefits of using ICT to manage class and time well. Like, teachers can make students to do colaborative learning and do interesting teaching-learning to implementate ICT tools without wasting time action. Moreover, ICT is also easier to plan and prepare lessons and design materials for students. It helps teachers to access up-to-date students and school data, anytime anywhere. From a teaching point of view, teachers used these devices to deliver a whole class and could use the digital content effectively that was available to them. In some colleges, teachers were expecting more of the students used ICT-whether this was due to the higher pace of lessons, work being done more quickly.

ICT is very important to support all teachers must be competent in teaching IT. This includes the school providing time for the teacher to have professional development days and time for lesson planning.

However, there are many governmental entities, which are responsible for developing policies and strategies in ICT application. Another entity is the National ICT Agency (NICTA), which is responsible for designing and managing the Application Plan of Information and Communication Technology (TAKFA), which is included ICT development plan for Iran (Sadeghnezhad, 2003). This situation reflects the limited authority of universities and MSRT in providing the financial and physical supports for ICT application.

In my opinion, ICT can enhance ICT skills and develop teaching and learning process. ICT can be an easier way for students to research and information compared to the earlier period. For example for student’s  assignment in the previously, ICT is saving their time in doing the assignment and there is no limit to the information without they have to go to the library to collect information. (Kurt, Gunuc and Ersoy 2013).

Referring to the information from the internet, it helps not only to gain in understanding but also analytical skills which include improvements in reading comprehension as well as increase knowledge. for example, we have to read and understand the essay from the websites before we choose the article. It improves our understanding by reading.

Actually, these tools permit the society to have easy to the information and knowledge access and to make people jobs and daily activities more comfortable. Otto (2005) argues that the access to the internet is increasing in schools. Around the world, many governments has designed plans for giving the necessary resources to provide the schools with technological tools and training for a teacher to improve teaching using ICT.

Besides, Houcine (2011) continues arguing that a quick feedback is possible as well as the possibility to combine alternately skills is (text and images, audio and video clips). Also lectures become more interesting and less ordinary which boosts learners’ engagement and lastly, ICT enables to laptop computer in which they practice tasks for improving their communicative skills, moreover, the work in the lab, teachers plan group work, the support of partners can help to strengthen the learning of students in a foreign language. 

In conclusion, ICT gives both advantages and disadvantages to education. We have to be careful when using it. Internet, TV, radio, and others include the ICT that provide the news and information to us. We can increase our vision when we use it, and do more positive activities through ICT, but we do not spend our time when using that tools, we have to manage our time well and must be wise in using the tools of  ICT.

How to Research a Topic for an Essay

The majority of people have difficulty when they start writing. The narrowness of reading literature and writing ability is the reason for someone’s confusion to research a topic. This reason makes someone reluctant to write. However, if they have a passion and way for writing and reading, they will not face any confusion in researching a topic about the essay. Researching essay topic has several ways, there are getting started  and researching in-depth.

One way is getting started. If we want to start research a topic we have to know the strategies of getting started. The first strategy is identity the research topic. It means that sometimes we get to pick a topic and sometimes our lecturer assigns us a topic. Even though, we usually still get to pick our angel of focus. Pick an idea can be interesting something. For example in the beginning stages we don’t need to have our topic super focused. The second strategy is we have to understand the assignment. There are a variety of things we need to understand about our assignment before we start researching. For example if the assignment is a research paper, we are going to need facts rather than opinions about the topic or if we are writing a persuasive essay, we will need our own opinions and facts to support those opinion. The third strategy is we have to determine the types of information we will need. This strategy things like the format of the material. For example if we are doing healthy research we will probably need to look in medical journal. The last strategy is do preliminary researching. When we are starting out it is best to do some basic, over-view type of research. This way will give ideas for a potential focus for our topic. For example if we have a course textbook look at the bibliography at the back of the book or look through sources like the Oxford Dictionary and make sure that we take notes on things that interest us about the topic because we can choose from our notes what how we will narrow the focus on our topic. As a result identity the research topic, understand the assignment, determine types of information and do preliminary research are important for getting started.

Another way is researching in depth. This way remembers us that we have to research more closely and specifically. Many ways researching in-depth. The first way is narrow the research focus. We will need to narrow the focus of our topic. For example like statement the narrower the focus, the easier it will be to find relevant research material. The second way is access academic sources. We will need to look at valid research sources and we will need to evaluate the validity of the information it provides. For example look for books through internet. It will show us if our library has the books we need and it will give us ideas for our research topic. Don’t forget to find academic and trade journals on our topic, or Government reports. The third way is evaluate our sources. It can be difficult when we are researching (especially only the internet) to find and make sure we have credible research material. For example we have to make sure that our sources clearly indicate the author and who the author is affiliated with. The last way is organize our information. Once we feel we have done enough research, organize the information we have gathered. This way will help our final essay. So we know where and how the information is going to be used. For example make sure that we have come to a definite result or conclusion about our research topic. If we have not it, we will need to do some more research. Accordingly, we have to know and understand the efficient ways for researching in depth.

To conclude, if we want to be able researching a topic of essay, we have to improve reading literature and writing skill.

Women Live Longer than Man

Every man and woman expects a healthy life. Certainly Healthy life followed by good and maximum effort. In fact, women pay more attention to their lifestyle than men. They are more likely to exercise and to consume more nutritious foods. While the men tend pay less attention to their lifestyle. Generally men have smoking habits and alcoholic beverages. Certainly bad habits affect their healthy life. These statements can be evidence that generally women live longer than men for two main reasons. There are women to take better care of their health and they have better resistance to stress.

First of all, women pay more attention their lifestyle to get better health than man. Women have usually many tips to always maintain their lifestyle to get better health, such as they do regular exercise. Women know the exercising regularly gives many advantages, such as regular exercise keeps blood pressure stable, giving a healthy heart and digestion will run smoothly. Besides that women consume nutritious food and drinking lots of water. They always bring the bottle of mineral water in their bag if they have many activities, because mineral water is very important for human’s body. They also make a schedule to manage their time to get enough rest. While men pay less attention their lifestyle to get better health. Generally men have bad activities like smoking and drinking the alcoholic beverages. They rarely exercise and drinking mineral water, because they are underestimating to do that. The bad activities affects for their healthy. So women more understand what have they do to get healthy life than men.

In addition to maintain the lifestyle to get better health, obtaining more friends and sharing the problems is another reason to women have better resistance to stress because that reason can reduce the level of stress of women. Generally if women have the problem, they share that problem to their friends because sometimes friends can provide the best solution to the problem being faced. While men’s stress level are higher than women because they tend to keep their own problem and do not want to share the problem to their friends. As a result having more friends and sharing the problems is one of the ways to have better resistance to stress.

In conclusion, a healthy life is much expected by men and women. Different effort will produce different results as well. Generally, the women’s business more pay attention to their lifestyle than men. While the men less pay  attention to their lifestyle. As a result that maximum effort will produce maximum results as well and it can be reason women live longer than men.

compare/contrast of high school and university

The Unique reality between high school and college or university

High school, as well as college is just another part in everyone’s lives. Almost everyone go through such   a transition between two very diverse and different worlds. These diverse worlds can be compared  and contrasted by everyone ; however , not all are aware of the possible similarities and differences between them. The purpose of this essay is to compare the student high school and college life in terms of the level of academic responsibilities, time schedule, as well as the culture practiced by each student.

First of all high school is the first step to a higher level or learning. This place equips us with the proper knowledge needed in order to survive college and other higher levels of learning. The topics being taught in high school are generalized in basic Math, Science, English, Filipino, and many other subjects. The students are more relaxed and their responsibilities are not that complited and heavy in a sense that there are fewer requirements and their due dates are not immediate. Compared to the time schedule of college students, a high school pupil’s schedule is much more fixed because the standard call time is at 7:30 a.m end 5.00 p.m. students are much more immature and need guidance in order to lead fulfilling lives. They study inside a single classroom everyday; thus having little freedom.

On the other hand, college or university is a different story. The subjects a student will learn and discuss are much more specific since you finally chose a career path you will take in the future. College students are older and their workload is much more complex and heavier. They have more responsibilities to carry in college because the curriculum is much more specific and complicated because detailed topics are being discussed regarding your choosen carer path. In contrast with the fixed regular schedule of high school students, college students time schedules are very flexible because they have to choose their own desired time schedule. These students are much more outgoing and independent compared to high school students. The culture of college students is much more diverse because there is a huge number of students inside a college; each student has their own nationality, college students live in different locations from all over the country and cultures from high school are brought into college by the students.

People can really see the distinctive difference these two phrases in life; however, there are also some similarities youb will carry on during your transition into college lives. Friends from your high school will always be there for you especially when you keep a constant connection between them. Studying habits such as cramming for a test or homework, creating during a test or copying another student’s homework, breaking the rules and disciplinary sanctions are still evident in both high school and college.

We all know that everyone goes through high school and college. We can compare that college is much more challenging and complex than high school. This is a higher level of learning, thus, requiring more time, effort as well as devotion to studies. Even though college is very tiring at times, i still believe that college is much more enjoyable and exciting. To have that kind of freedom in your schedule is very rewarding; however, proper judgment is a must since we are all mature students now.

The transition between high school and college is freeing in some ways  and difficult in others. While adults no longer dictate or supervise how you spend your time, you must now spend more of it dealing with a higher level of academic expectation. You can also expect considerable changes in the financial and social arena.

The main thing is class structure. In high school, class size are generally small around 30 students and then teachers routinely know every student by name. By the time you get to college, however you can not longer count on teachers to be familiar with you or your academic skills and shortcomings. Class sizes are usually much larger, often with hundreds of students, and professors often adopt a lecture format where student participation is at a minimum. Smaller classes such as labs and seminar may feel reminiscent of high school, but they like lecturers are fast-paced and generally more rigorous than high school.

The other thing is academic routine. Until college, teachers and parents frequently check into ensure you are working to your potential and on track with assignments both inside and ourside of school. Moreover, homework generally doesn’t exceed a few hours a night, at most. College students, on the other hand should plan on an average of 24 to 36 hours of academic work outside of class each week for a very modest course load of 12 semester hours, according to Chicago State University. Students with disabilities, moreover should be prepared to assume their own advocacy roles as opposed to reliying on their parents, according to Vincennes University.

The last thing is social life. Opportunities for good clean fun as well as vices multiply rapidly once you reach college. Although a healthy social life is one of the benefits of going to college, many students find the mounting distraction can harm their academic success, if they aren’t vigilant with parents and teachers no longer playing a supervisory roles as they did in high school, it is important to supervise yourself and keep socializing to a level that doesn’t compromise your schoolwork.

Consequently,  there are the unique between secondary school and university. Both of these places helps in brighten our future. At the same time, it improves our standard of living by giving education to us.
